Strategies

Reached World

We focus on just a few locations in the world and assist indigenous pastors as they plant churches that engage the culture by bringing the truth to people in ways that are helpful and logical. As these "model" churches develop and reproduce, they become movements of relevant churches.

Some of the characteristics of these churches are:

  • Appealing environments
  • Engaging presentations
  • Helpful Content
  • Clear steps that move people towards community through strategies like:
    • Foyer to kitchen approach
    • Invest and invite
    • Small groups for life change

Strategic Partners

globalX's goal is to help lead people of their nations into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by creating environments where people are encouraged and equipped to pursue three vital relationships:

  • Intimacy with God
  • Community with Insiders
  • Influence with Outsiders

Ultimately, our passion is to create churches that are irresistible rather than irrelevant. This involves crafting environments that attract people outside the faith, as well as insiders, and guiding them through a number of steps that lead them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Countries where we are currently developing International Strategic Partnerships are:

  • Philippines
  • Bosnia
  • Estonia
  • Macedonia
  • Moldova
  • Romania
  • Slovakia
  • Spain
  • Ukraine
  • Brazil
  • DR
  • Mexico
  • South East Asia

Least Reached

Currently, globalX has chosen to focus on a few countries in the least-reached world where we are employing the following strategies.

Business As Mission

Business as Mission (BAM) uses business as a tool that God has given us to reach the world and bring about transformation. Business creates wealth, jobs and a higher standard of living. Kingdom businesses are a transformational light to everyone they touch. Even if a person lives in a grass hut, they want a better and bigger hut. As a result, business is welcomed almost everywhere in the world, even in the restricted access countries. A few BAM strategies we are using:

  • Micro-enterprise development for church planting: We send businesspeople from the U.S. to teach indigenous church planters how to start a small business and provide the initial money for the business loans. globalX has initiated more than 45 of these businesses - all of which have developed relationships for the kingdom.
  • Business seminars for outreach: We bring professionals from the U.S. overseas to conduct seminars on business practices, developing relationships as well as facilitating the connection of people to small groups that introduce them to the truth.

Orality

Over 60% of the people in the least-reached world are illiterate. Even if we translated the Bible and other resources into their language, they could not read it. We are working with partners to develop content and technology to reach those around the world who are unable to read or write.

English

We are fortunate to speak the language that most of the world wants to learn. English is the international language of business and education. We send people from each campus to other countries to teach English, develop relationships and share their faith.

Training National Leaders

Most closed access countries currently have national leaders who are committed followers of Christ but they desperately need trainging in biblical principles and leadership. GlobalX brings qualified trainers and relevant curricula to assist with this huge need.

Justice and Mercy

James 1:27 tells us that pure and undefiled religion is to meet the needs of widows and orphans who are in distress. Working though local churches, globalX assists in meeting the needs of the poor and distressed, pointing people to Christ.

Least-reached countries where we are currently implementing these strategies:

  • East Asia
  • The Samburu of Kenya
  • Pakistan
  • South East Asia

Justice & Mercy

He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

There is something to be said by just getting out of your comfort zone and experience God internationally. These trips are very much like what we would do in our local communities through Intersect. We have identified some areas around the world that have specific needs and we are exploring ways where we can be the hands and feet of Jesus. These trips are great for first timers!

We take trips like these all over, including our Strategic Partnerships.

  • Bolivia
  • Cambodia
  • Dominican Republic
  • East Asia
  • Guatemala
  • Jamaica
  • Kenya
  • South Africa
  • Venezuela
  • Mexico

Missionaries

God desires that His people lead others into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. This is accomplished through every stage in life and vocational placement. However, some have been gifted and called to lead churches and ministries that model effective ways to reach their country's outsiders. Others are called for a time to leave their country and support national leaders in their ministries. These we call missionaries.

Philosophy

Supporting and training national Christian leaders is our most effective means of advancing ministry in other countries. Nationals understand the basics of their culture, language, and people. Our national leader profile includes discontent with ineffective traditional approaches, demonstration of relevant ministry and a readiness to embrace a relevant church model that connects with outsiders. National Christian leaders who exhibit these basic characteristics are those we consider for partnership and support.

A missionary that is gifted and properly trained can best facilitate the progress of national Christian leaders. The role of the missionary is to support and serve nationals in their churches and ministries. Missionaries accomplish this by training and mentoring nationals with fresh ideas to help create a model church that will lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Other effective roles of missionaries include business or teaching English.

globalX supports and funds both national Christian leaders and missionaries. Those approved for support are viewed as extended "staff." We partner with missionary applicants and their mission agency to determine a fit and to offer advice during their service. We continually evaluate those we support by asking a few questions. Are the people and organizations we support in the right place, doing the right thing, with the right people? Is it a good value? We remain involved in the process so that we know the answers to these questions.

Qualifications

Must be a member of a North Point Ministries campus.

Service assignment using our stated strategy of training national Christian leaders in Biblical principles and developing relevant churches. See "Guidelines for Missionary Funding Decisions" under Support Process.

The task of world evangelism requires many different jobs and individuals with unique gifts. The activity of a potential missionary is not as important as is being a strategic part of an effort to build up national Christian leaders and developing a relevant church model or an effective platform for the least-reached.

Special consideration will be given to candidates interested in becoming part of a globalX partnership.

FAQs

How long will it take me to walk through the globalX missionary process and move to the field as a missionary?

From several months to several years, depending upon where in your journey we begin to talk. Our process is designed to be unhurried in order for you to know us and us to know you. Across missionary world it averages six years from the point of a persons "calling" until he or she reaches the field.

Will I work exclusively with globalX or will I need to select a mission agency?

You will choose an appropriate missions agency to add cross-cultural training, accountability, and fundraising assistance. We prefer you use a mission agency with which globalX has a close relationship.

If approved for the mission field, will globalX cover my total financial support?

No. globalX will contribute to a portion of your funding and your mission agency will work with you to determine and raise your required funding support.
